CinemaScape, optimizing the viewing experience in 2.35 projection home theaters. Until now, switching between aspect ratios usually required a mode switch and movement of an anamorphic lens. CinemaScape eliminates this disruptive glitch by performing the necessary video processing.

“Now it’s a fluid and seamless experience when I’m exploring my collection of movies,” said Eric Schmidt, Founder and President of Sound and Vision in Willowbrook, IL. “With the Kaleidescape System I can jump around instantly, reliving memorable scenes and watching songs from different concerts, and with CinemaScape the experience is even more spectacular.”

After months of speculation on what Kaleidescape had up its sleeve, they let the proverbial cat out of the bag today-Bluray downloads from its’ own store! “This is amazing news for our clients with Kaleidescape systems,” said Eric Schmidt. “We have been on the sidelines when it came to streaming and downloadable content. This is largely due to poor quality and limited selection.  Our clients have unbelievably high resolution systems capable of reproducing the true cinematic experience.  While Bluray certainly delivers everything the director intended, it’s really a tragedy to watch any less!” Kaleidescape promises a catalog of content available in the 1st quarter.

We can also recommend and provide preventive measures and early warning systems to insure that these issues are avoiding in the future.
One of the categories that have improved tremendously in recent years is the area of battery backup, power protection and conditioning.
Not only offering significantly better protection but noticeable improvements in both audio and video performance.
Some will even reboot your cable modem automatically when it gets hung up. How cool is that!

Our early warning systems can provide preemptive alerts via e-mail, text and audible warnings. Spotify after several years of streaming dominance in Europe has finally made its way to the US. Having only had a couple of hours using the service I will say that it does sound better than most other similar solutions primarily Rhapsody. With the premium subscription you have access to a 320kbps stream. This is more than twice resolution of Rhapsodies best and 50% better than songs purchased on iTunes. The desktop application is really clean, straightforward and fast. You can also access Spotify on most mobile devices. As with Rhapsody you can download music for offline listening. The claim of everything everywhere might be a bit of a reach. I did a search for the greatest group and my absolute favorite Pink Floyd. The results were pretty poor with only the live album Pulse available. Heck Roger Waters was not even part of this. So is it really Pink Floyd?
Anyway the best part is that we have already have Spotify integrated with our Crestron system at our Design & Experience center. We are in the early stages of testing but will have an official release very soon.
I’ll spend some more time over the next couple days and will report back.

Since Apple mobile devices lack Flash support we needed to come up with a way to view our portfolio in a supported format. The website will detect if you are on an iPad or iPhone and will load an optimized version. Pretty slick if I do say so myself!
Check it out an iPad as it’s the best experience. www.soundandvision.net/portfolio
